3.3B Social Engineering Attacks in 2023

According to a report by the Ponemon Institute, there were an estimated 3.3 billion social engineering attacks in 2023. This is a significant increase from the 2.9 billion attacks that occurred in 2022. The report also found that the average cost of a social engineering attack was $173,000. Social engineering attacks are one of the most common and effective types of cyberattacks. They work by tricking the victim into giving up their personal information or clicking on a malicious link.
